Armada Maritime Services bunker surveys provides an impartial and independent service to accurately measure the quantity of marine fuels – or Bunkers - on board a vessel at the time of survey.

Our experienced bunker surveyors can also undertake forensic surveys to recover missing bunkers over a voyage for the client, often saving the client a great deal of money.

Bunker fuel quantity services include:

  • Determining size of oil tanks and measuring quantity of oil in tanks through ullage or sounding methodology as appropriate

  • Checking vessel records for relevant bunker details

  • Checking density and temperature of bunkers

  • Obtaining vessel’s draft details to determine trim and listing factors
  • Measuring water temperature in port

  • Calculate quantity of marine fuels on board

  • Provision of a detailed report as to amount of bunkers onboard and noting if there is a shortage

Oil custody transfer surveys include:

  • Measuring the bunker tanker and the vessel receiving the fuel oils, before and after delivery

  • Sampling the Bunker fuel and arranging testing to accepted industry standards

  • Calculating the quantity delivered

  • Provision of a detailed bunker survey report

  • Taking photographs of sampling process if required (subject to site permission)
