ABOUT

Armada Maritime Services is an independent Marine Surveying, Maritime Consultancy business in Australia and has been operating since 2003.

We are based in Adelaide and Melbourne, but service all ports in Australia, and also attend vessels in New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Pacific Islands. We are contactable 24/7 and are able to  undertake assignments at short notice.

We work with all segments of the maritime industry, including:

Ship Owners, Charterers, Shippers, Consignees,  Ship Managers, Insurance, Banks, P&I Clubs, Financial Institutions,   Law firms, Commodity Traders.

Armada Maritime Services' surveyors all have Master Class 1 qualifications and many years of command experience. Each has their own significant professional expertise in areas such as project and heavy lift cargoes, pre-purchase inspections, P&I and condition surveys, OCIMF-SIRE inspections, Rightship inspections, shipboard safety and management audits,  marine incident & claims investigations, adjustment and special purpose surveys, quality and safety system documentation audits and logistics and shipping/terminal operations.

OUR TEAM

Capt. Kamran Sultan

Capt. Sultan is Director of Armada Maritime Services. He is a Master Mariner with over 40 years’ experience in the Australian and international maritime industry, including 13 years of command experience and 19 years as Marine Surveyor.  

 

He is highly experienced in pre-purchase inspections, heavy lift and project cargo operations, pre-PSC inspections, dry bulk cargoes, grain cargoes, preparing vessels for loading contamination-sensitive cargoes, superintendence of loading and discharge, hull and deck damage surveys, and in consultancy on ship and cargo operations.

 

With a Graduate Diploma in Business (Shipping) and a Master's degree in Maritime Management from the Australian Maritime College, Capt. Sultan well understands the commercial aspects of shipping operations and works with clients to ensure that their vessels enjoy an efficient visit  and prompt turnaround time in port.

Capt. Tallat Karamat

Capt. Karamat is a Master Mariner with eight years command experience in tankers of various sizes, up to Aframax tankers. He has been a marine surveyor for 13 years, including undertaking  management and fleet internal audits in respect to health, safety and environmental management  and facilitated external audits and has had responsibility for Tanker Management Self-Assessment (TMSA) audits.

Capt Karamat is an accredited and highly experienced OCIMF-SIRE inspector. He is also experienced in pre-charter inspections of tankers, bulk carrier vetting inspections for Rightships (BHP / RTZ),  pre-purchase inspections, and P&I surveys for cargo damage, ship damage and injury, amongst others.

Sarah Cowap

Sarah is our Business Manager and looks after the business administration and marketing of the business. She has decades of administrative experience, working both in private enterprise and public service and has been working for Armada Maritime Services for 9 years.

 

Sarah has a Graduate Diploma in Business (Shipping) from the Australian Maritime College, a degree in Professional Writing from the University of Canberra and an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Adelaide.
